La Dolce Vita

We just got back from a unforgettable trip to Italy. We spent most of our trip in Milan but took a day trip to Verona (to visit our favorite store) and spent a night in Venice. We felt at home in Milan since we were there just last summer. We visited some of our old favorite spots and discovered some new hidden gems as well. We can't wait to share more pictures of our Italian adventure with you!

Verona: A Hop, Skip and a Train Ride Away!

We took a lovely train ride from Milan to Verona, listening to Love Story by Taylor Swift on the way. Before we knew it were in the city Romeo and Juliet fell in love. Juliet's House (Casa di Giulietta in Italian) was magical. We turned a corner and walked through a little tunnel. All of a sudden we found ourselves in Juliet's courtyard. The balcony was where Juliet uttered the infamous "O Romeo, Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?" So romantic!"
The city as a whole had a feel about it. Verona is indeed a city of love.

Bellissimo Bellagio

On Father's Day, we took a day trip to Lake Como. The weather was absolutely perfect. We rode a train from Milan to Lake Como and then a boat from Lake Como to Bellagio. Bellagio is also called "the pearl of Lake Como" and we couldn't think of a more fitting name. With views of the Alps across the lake to the charming restaurants and shops along the cobblestone paths, Bellagio was the perfect little town, so picturesque. It seemed as if there were surprises waiting for us at every corner...
Next stop, Bellagio!

Hydrangeas in every shade of pink
We ate at the lovely Trattoria San Giacomo for lunch. Someone's review on tripadvisor.com said, "It doesn't get better than this!" and we couldn't agree more. The staff was so friendly and it was worth the hour wait. Our pasta dishes were simply delicious, made with the freshest of ingredients.

We also had the most amazing frozen yogurt. The frozen yogurt in Italy is yogurt gelato so it is much more creamier and rich. Topped with halved strawberries, it was like they were dipped in frozen whipped cream.

Pasta too pretty to eat
